PFSAs

PFSA’S

Drinking water supplies serving more than six million Americans contain unsafe levels of a widely used class of industrial chemicals linked to potentially serious health problems, according to a new study from Harvard University researchers. The chemicals — known as polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances, or PFASs — have been used for decades in a range of industrial and commercial products, including non-stick coatings on pans, food wrappers, water-repellent clothing and firefighting foam.

OTHER METALS

MERCURY

Mercury (Hg) is one of the least abundant elements in the earth’s crust.

Mercury in the drinking water is of the inorganic man made type.  If inorganic mercury enters the body, it usually settles in the kidneys.

Organic mercury enters people mostly through the eating of fish.  It attacks the central nervous system.  This Mercury is  primarily derived from industrial chemical manufacturing waste, or from the leaching of coal ash.

Fluoride

Where Fluoride First Appeared Fluoride first appeared In the Nazi concentration camps. It was specifically used to pacify the prisoners so they would be easy to control. Now Fluoride is Added to the U.S. Water Supply by the US Government The cover story is that it is good for our teeth.  There is no scientific evidence to support this.

Drugs

The new study, which was be released in January in the journal Environmental Pollution. Conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency, it is the largest study of water coming out of wastewater treatment plants.

Chlorine

CHLORINE

As a halogen, chlorine is a highly efficient disinfectant, and is added to public water supplies to kill disease-causing pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoans, that commonly grow in water supply reservoirs, and on the walls of water mains and in storage tanks.

Parasites

PARASITES

Toxoplasma, the cause of the disease, toxoplasmosis (TOX-o-plaz-MO-sis), is a single-celled, microscopic parasite found throughout the world. It is interesting to note that these organisms can only carry out their reproductive cycle within members of the cat family. In this parasite-host relationship, the cat is the definitive host. The infective stage (oocyst) develops in the gut of the cat. The oocysts are then shed into the environment with cat feces.
