Corn

The six major types of maize are dent corn, flint corn, pod corn, popcorn, flour corn, and sweet corn. Corn has become a staple food in many parts of the world, with the total production of maize surpassing that of wheat or rice. It is used extensively in the feeding of animals.

Corn does not grow on it’s own, human intervention is required for it to propagate it. corn typically grows to 10 feet but has been known to grow as tall as 43 feet. It has shallow roots. 92% of the US maize/corn crop was genetically modified in 2016 and 33% of the worldwide maize crop was GM in 2016.
